I took Accutane at the age of 14 and suffered very badly for decades from what Accutane did to my body. I have now successfully recovered my physical, emotional, and mental health and offer comprehensive Accutane Recovery consultations as well as a bimonthly, group call for individuals who are committed to recovering their health after having taken Accutane.

Accutane recovery is a complex subject and process. For the best results, I recommend the following before working with me:

  • Find out if you have “highly sensitive physiology.” If you score 14 or higher on this test, you likely have highly sensitive physiology which can bring with it a vulnerability to neurotransmitter insufficiency. In my work, I am seeing a correlation between people who have this physiology and difficulty recovering after having taken Accutane.
  • Get tested for MTHFR. I recommend a comprehensive gene test; however, you can get tested just for MTHFR via your primary care physician.

A common pathway that I’m seeing is that (often highly sensitive) individuals are given Accutane, then develop mental, emotional, and physical health issues. Doctors, and even naturopaths then prescribe or suggest various pharmaceutical or natural solutions without truly understanding the underlying situation. In cases where antidepressants are administered, a whole new level of problems can be introduced on top of the accutane damage, actually making it worse.

To achieve a significant health recovery, an understanding of the following topics is needed:

  • Metabolism & The Methylation Cycle
  • Digestive Organs
  • Organ Function & Body Systems
  • Neurotransmitters
  • Detoxification
  • Stress & Relaxation
  • Microbiome
  • Highly Sensitive Physiology (where applicable)
  • The Role of Insulin
  • How to Supplement Effectively

“Thank you again for all you have done for Sarah. She is blessed to have you as such a significant part of her healing journey. Your insights, wisdom and extensive knowledge of how to live the life of a gifted – highly sensitive person and of how to heal from the horrific impacts of Accutane, coupled with your attention, compassion and care have helped to set her up for a lifetime of purpose, fulfillment and joy instead of a lifetime pain and suffering. Many, many thanks…”

A Note About Denial

As human beings we have an inbuilt tendency to say “no, I’m fine.” I believe this is a part of our survival mechanism. Because Accutane is prescribed as a “medication” by people we are supposed to trust (doctors), it can be difficult to come to terms with the fact that significant harm was done to our health. Furthermore, because not everyone has trouble recovering from this chemotherapy that is given as an acne treatment, we may not totally believe there is actually a problem. This, despite significant mental, emotional, and/or physical decline.

FAQ

Q: What’s the difference between the group calls and the Accutane consultation?

A: In the group calls we discuss general topics and principles of Accutane recovery. You will likely learn more about your own situation by hearing answers to other people’s questions as well as your own. And while you can ask questions, there is a limit to the level of detail that we can address in your personal situation. The assessment and consultation on the other hand gives you the opportunity to provide your medical history in detail and to have in-depth one-on-one time to discuss your recovery.

Accutane Recovery Consultation

It took decades of my life to realize that a) Accutane was a root cause of my undiagnosable health issues and b) how to heal. I now offer a 2 hour accutane recovery health assessment and consultation for individuals who are ready to heal. (Not everyone is.) In many cases the Accutane experience can (very understandably) create significant trust issues with health care providers.

That being said, this recovery consultation is for individuals who are ready to fast track their recovery process. The focus is on giving you all the pieces necessary for recovery, not just some of them. One missing piece can be problematic to a successful recovery.

You will fill out a detailed accutane intake form and we will schedule two, one hour calls to:

  • Discuss your recovery
  • Identify key principles and healing protocols relevant to your specific situation
  • Identify specific, non-pharmaceutical products and supplements to help your body repair itself

A note about cost: The complexity of accutane damage to the body + additional complexity introduced by antidepressants represents one of the most challenging health conditions that a person can experience. Without healing, this condition can last a lifetime.

Accutane is a form of chemotherapy. By comparison, wound treatment for chemotherapy on a simple skin cancer is approximately $9,000. Accutane is a far more complex situation involving delicate tissues inside the body, multiple organs, potential disruptions to neurotransmitter production and metabolism, disruptions to mental, emotional and physical health, as well as issues with digestion and nutrient absorption.

Availability : One client per month

Because Acutane recovery can be so complex, I’ve spent years at a time solving one part of the problem only to then run into something new. Then spending years figuring that out. My intention is to share everything I’ve learned with you, at the right times, so that you can proceed through the healing process wihtout encountering these several year long declines while you figure out what the next piece is.
